If you are considering graduate school, are passionate about helping people, and are interested in shaping the future of technology, come check out the MIT Media Lab! We will be hosting our second annual open house for prospective graduate students on October 28, 2013.
During the open house, you will have the opportunity to tour the Lab's research groups, meet faculty and graduate students, and catch a glimpse of the future. You'll experience the Lab's signature demo culture and experiment with revolutionary technology including a program that converts drawings into musical compositions, wearable sensors that monitor health, and the city car of the future. You'll learn about the Lab's diverse research foci including sociable robots, innovative interface design, smart prostheses, and viral communications. And, you'll find out how you can become a part of this vibrant community by applying to the graduate program.
The Media Lab has one of the best graduate programs in the country, one that offers unique opportunities to do creative, cutting-edge, and radically interdisciplinary research. Students come to the Media Lab through the Program in Media Arts and Sciences (MAS), based within MIT’s School of Architecture + Planning. Each year, the program accepts approximately 30-40 master’s and PhD candidates. Student backgrounds range from computer science to psychology, music to graphic design, architecture to mechanical engineering, to name a few. All graduate students are fully supported (tuition/medical insurance, plus a stipend), and spend a majority of their time on research activities.
