Emily Cooper, Nanoscale Sensing

This wafer is an example of the material from which we fabricate electrical and mechanical sensors at the micro- and nanoscale. The silicon is altered through ion-implantation, thin-film growth and deposition, and etching. Geometries for these processes are typically defined photolithographically.
