Television, as good as it is—high definition, vivid and bright—is viewed in two dimensions, but for years futurists have wanted to bring three dimensional life to viewers through a television set. Solutions to this challenge have remained elusive, but research at MIT has now put a consumer friendly system of 3D TV within reach. The mouse celebrated its 40th birthday last year. This little device has achieved so much in a short lifetime. Indeed its mainly because of this device that we have the Graphical User Interface (GUI), comprising windows, icons, menus, and pointer (WIMP). The mouse and WIMP are an integral part of our daily interactions with computers, but what’s next?
