The Media Lab System Administration Page has great instructions for all kinds of sys-admin problems, including installling printers, drivers, ETC.
If you need to get a computer networked, the Sys-pro people have a form on their web page that they like you to fill out, .
You can also send e-mail to "help@media.mit.edu" to ask for sys-admin help

Software Information
Individual RA's keep a copy of their own Microsoft Developer Kit
Chad keeps the hard copy of all software our group owns. There is no exception to this. You must return the CD that you borrow within 24 hours!
Neil Geshenfelds server has a lot of software stored on it, that we can install.
Media Lab System Administration Page has a list of software that MIT or the Media Lab has site lisences for.
Some software is located off of MLNT.

This includes operating systems installation, erasing user files. In general, Sys-pro frowns on any foreign operating systems, like BOS. They are not helpful if we have damaged the computer with
weird software or operating systems.
If you do, return it in 24 hours, or replace it in 24 hours, and e-mail the group.

Sys-Admin Resources
It is accessible in Samba, by the path: \\cga\hyperopera
Use this path for editing and creating websites.
The user files are in \\cga\hyperopera\ho\u for PC and Windows or mas/disks/....for unix????
Hyperopera is backed up regularly by the sys-pro people, so it is a good place to store important files.
You can access your home directory on hyperopera through hub\"your user name" in Network Neighborhood.

This is a High8 camera that makes profeesional quality video, though not very small. Chad has it.
Olympus Digital still camera, you can download it's dsoftware from the web.
GIli has a fire wire interface for digital video editting. I am not sure of it's status.
