Biography

Seth Godin is the author of 15 books that have been translated into more than 35 languages, on topics including the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership, and changing everything. Recently, Godin launched a series of four books via Kickstarter; the campaign reached its goal after three hours. As an entrepreneur, he has founded dozens of companies, most of which failed. Yoyodyne, his first Internet company (acquired by Yahoo! in 1998), pioneered permission marketing—the use of ethical direct mail online. He served as vice president of direct marketing at Yahoo! for a year. His latest company, Squidoo.com, is ranked among the top 125 sites in the US (by traffic) by Quantcast. Squidoo.com allows anyone to build a page about anything, and raises money for charity and pays royalties to its million-plus members.
