Internet Society is a non-profit, non-governmental, international,
professional membership organization. Its more than 150 organization
and 11,000 individual members in over 180 nations worldwide
represent a veritable who's who of the Internet community. You
should be a member, too.
The work of the Internet Society focuses on four "pillars:"
standards, public policy, education and training, and membership.

Standards
ISOC
is the organizational home of the Internet
Engineering Task Force, the Internet
Architecture Board, the Internet
Engineering Steering Group, and the Internet
Research Task Force. Specific activities include support
for the RFC Editor Function of the IETF. |
Public Policy
ISOC
is active in areas such as censorship/freedom of expression,
taxation, governance, and intellectual property.

Education
& Training
The
Internet Society has helped train many of the key information
technology leaders around the world through programs such as
the annual Network Training Workshops (NTW), Sustainable Internet
Training Centers (SITCs), and sponsorship of the Internet
Fiesta.

Membership
Membership
activities include provision of services for organizational
and individual members, and support for ISOC chapters worldwide.

Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) documents, including RFCs and
Internet Drafts, that document the technology, protocols and operating
procedures that form the Internet.
