Assignment 8: Forming and joining
For this assignment, I played with the ultrasonic welder, the spot welder, and the vacuum former. I made some random joined pieces with the ultrasonic welder, spot welded some random pieces of metal. Here's an example pieces:Ultrasonic welded balloon that can hold water:
I also used the vacuum former to created the outer covering for the patient monitor. In general, it was very difficult to form the final case for the monitor (I literally spent the last 3 days in lab for hours and hours trying different molds and perfecting the timing and process to get a case that worked.
