1. Get a Necsys account through Neil Gershenfeld.


2. Once you have an account contact Necsys. Give them your log-in name and request full read/writable access to everything contained with in Fab and Fab99 folders (located on the network at CGA://physics/pedagogy).

All work must be saved to the appropriate folder.

Any images associated with Tutorial files should be put in CGA://physics/www/pedagogy/fab/... and then one of the following:

mems - MEMS

cad - CAD

machine - Hand Machining

cnc - NC Machining

Mold - Injection Molding

laserprint - Laser Printing

electronics - Electronics

materials - Materials

ucntrl - Microcontrolers

sensors - Transducers

PLD - FPGA

comm - Wired and Wireless

display - Display

 

Any images associated with Student Example files should be put in CGA://physics/pedagogy/fab/... and then one of the following:

MemsEx - MEMS

CadEx - CAD

MachEx - Hand Machining

NCMachEx - NC Machining

InjectEx - Injection Molding

LaserEx - Laser Printing

ElectronEx - Electronics

MaterialsEx - Materials

MicroEx- Microcontrolers

It is your resposibility to update your areas of the site. This includes the thumb nail images/animations on the front page.

Note the position of the site you want to access by referring to the information bar at the top of your browser.


Use Dream Weaver (downloaded from the Meno server or found on the computers in Neil's lab) to open the web page of your choice. All Tutorial files will be in Fab. All Student Example files will be located in Fab (the year of your class) - eg. Fab99

Edit your pages as you choose. However, do not delete your name in the Student Example pages as this contains a link to the front page of the site.

 

CONVENTIONS

To keep the site fairly cohesive please keep to the following conventions:

FONT: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica combination

MAIN TITLE: FONT SIZE 6, BOLD, UPPERCASE

Sub Title : Font size 6, bold, mixed case

Main Text: Font size 3, normal, mixed case

Please justify all test to the left.

 

 

In the Modify Menu/Page Properties:

set the background to black(#000000)

Set Text to White (#FFFFFF),

Set the Links color to purple (9999ff)

Set Visited Links to blue (0066ff)

and set the active links to red (66000)
