Determination of Safe Path using Risk Meter
The purpose of the extended version RiskMeter, "Determination of Safe Path using
Risk Meter", is to introduce “Risk”
as an additional factor in finding paths, where “Risk” generally represents crime rate. The project consists of two components. The first is “Risk Meter”
which shows the chance of a crime in a given place at a given time. “Risk” is calculated based on the criminal record around MIT provided by Cambridge
Police. The second component is Microsoft MapPoint which is used to find a path between two geographical locations. The task is to integrate Risk as one
of the heuristics so that MapPoint can give multiple suggestions based on the Risk level of the paths.
