Hearplay provides a tool for sharing speech-annotated media on networked PocketPCs. It uses asynchronous audio to help us stay aware of what others in our community are doing, what they are interested in, and how available they are for realtime or offline interaction. The system provides a spontaneous and relevant audio "broadcast" to an affinity group of mobile users.
