SAK2 is an interface board for the MIThril 2003 system designed by Mike Sung, adapted from the original SAK board by Vadim Gerasimov. Mike has a wealth of information about the SAK2 infrastructure on his page.

Most of my work involved constructing and debugging the first SAK2 prototypes. Shown below is our first working unit, "A2". Click on the top half to download a high-resolution photo of the front, and click on the bottom to get the back:

All production files (schematics, bill of materials, Gerber files) can be found at Mike's aforementioned page.

I was also responsible for implementing the SAK2's wireless functionality. A Nordic Semiconductor low-power 2.4 GHz transceiver was included on the board (see bottom SAK2 image, top right corner) plus a quaterwave dipole antenna (thick L-shaped metal trace). I debugged all the circuitry as well as programmed the PIC microcontroller to communicate with the transceiver. We hope to make the wireless infrastructure a permanent addition to the next MIThril incarnation.
