Fellowship Manager, Creative Learning Fellows

Job Description

The Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab is looking to hire a full-time Fellowship Manager to organize and support a network of Creative Learning Fellows in Brazil.

The Creative Learning Fellowship program is part of a broader initiative, funded by the Lemann Foundation, to encourage and support creative learning opportunities for children throughout Brazil. Each year, the program selects and supports about a dozen new Fellows to serve as advocates and role models for creative learning in Brazil.

In addition, the Fellowship Manager will contribute to other educational initiatives in the Lifelong Kindergarten research group, focused on the design and use of new technologies to engage children around the world in creative learning experiences. The initiatives will focus especially on the international use of the Scratch programming language.


  • Develop, execute, and manage Fellowship program plans, scope, and schedule;
  • Devise and run an annual process for selecting new Fellows;
  • Develop strategies to ensure program operations are effective and efficient;
  • Develop and manage program budget;
  • Identify and resolve issues (e.g., overrunning budget or project timeline problems);
  • Participate in the design and development of program systems and resources (e.g., databases, documentation, policies, and procedures);
  • Contribute to communication plans and respond to inquiries about program;
  • Compile, review, and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness; make recommendations to enhance effectiveness; implement solutions;
  • Provide documentation and/or reporting to internal and/or external stakeholders;
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship for all current and previous Fellows;
  • Help to organize events in Brazil where Fellows share and demonstrate their projects;
  • Document and disseminate activities and experiences from the Fellowship program to share with others in Brazil and internationally;
  • Conduct research on learning approaches, challenges, and strategies in the Fellowship program;
  • Develop new approaches to support the expanding network of Fellows;
  • Contribute to other educational initiatives in the Lifelong Kindergarten research group;
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree related field;
  • Three years of administrative/operational/research experience, including experience working in the Brazilian education ecosystem and educational research experience;
  • Demonstrated expertise in professional development of educators;
  • Deep understanding of constructionist educational approaches;
  • Excellent organizational abilities;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Full fluency in both Portuguese and English;
  • Availability to travel regularly between Boston and Brazil.


  • Advanced degree in Education, Learning Sciences or related discipline.
