Infoseek Japan Begins I-Mode-Compatible Search Service for Temp Jobs

June 28, 2001 (TOKYO) -- Infoseek Japan KK started a temporary job search service for finding temporary job information by using its i-mode-compatible information search Web site, "i-seek."

The service can search needed information from 4,500 pieces of information across the country by inputting key words such as occupational classification and work site.

Adecco Career Staff Ltd., a placement agency, offers update information three times a week. Information is free of charge, but users have to pay for communications fees.

To search job information, if a user enters keywords such as "sales of well-known brand products in Shibuya," for example, information related to the keywords, "sales," "brand products," and "Shibuya," will be displayed automatically.

The service also provides a conditional search by using the type of occupation and commuting time, and a regional and transportation system search by entering a hoped-for work area, such as the Tokyo metropolitan area or Kansai, and a transportation system such as the JR or a subway.

By using the properties of i-mode, i-seek has a "phone-to" function allowing a user to call the company displayed on the screen after a search is undertaken.
