A Big Step Up

Children need to see and reach the countertop. We designed a simple and subtle modification to a kitchen that allows children to reach the countertops easily and safely. The kitchen step can be activated by a button or a kick switch, which will spring it out from under the cupboards, where it will raise to a total height of approximately ten inches off the floor. Its hideaway design will make it virtually invisible once the button has been pushed and the step retracts to its folded-up, under-the-kickboard position.
