Imagine if your food could tell you its story -- where it came from, how it was harvested, how it is processed. Marco Pollo does exactly that by utilizing simple tagging and barcode techniques.

For example, you expose a tagged bag of Thai rice to a reader and up on the screen pops pictures of rice paddies in Thailand, a map showing you where Thailand is, etc. This was originally conceived as an educational toy for children to learn about the world through their food, but new applications for this constantly reveal themselves.
