Stephanie Bell-Rose leads the TIAA Institute, which promotes financial security and organizational effectiveness in the education, nonprofit and public sectors. Through in-depth research, knowledge- sharing convenings and targeted communications, the Institute helps leaders anticipate trends, plan future strategies and maximize opportunities for success.

Before joining TIAA, Bell-Rose served as managing director and president of the Goldman Sachs Foundation, which focused on promoting excellence and innovation in education and entrepreneurship. She also served as counsel and program officer for public affairs at the Andrew

W. Mellon Foundation, where she directed legal affairs and led philanthropic initiatives in education and public policy.

Currently, Bell-Rose serves on the Boards of Directors of The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Public Welfare Foundation, the Association of Black Foundation Executives, and the Council on Foundations, and is on the Board of Overseers of Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. Stephanie received her AB, JD, and MPA degrees all from Harvard University.
