Former Director's Fellow

Keisuke Honda is a professional soccer player, entrepreneur, and educator. As a professional soccer player, Honda played in both the 2010 and 2014 World Cups for the Japanese National Team, scoring goals in both tournaments, and he currently plays for AC Milan, one of the most illustrious clubs in the world.

As an entrepreneur, Honda is active as an angel investor and has also launched his own management company, Honda Estilo. The firm now runs 65 soccer schools with over 3500 students in Japan, and has also built ZOZOPARK Honda Soccer Area, a premier soccer facility in Makuhari, Japan. In 2015, the company acquired SV Horn, a professional soccer team in Austria.

As an educator, Honda’s lifetime mission is to support the education of children, especially in the less fortunate countries, by tackling the root problem-lack of opportunities. He believes the true solution is to provide opportunities for “local production for local consumption” or independence. To teach the spirit of independence and the importance of having a dream, he has held soccer camps in 16 locations in nine countries over the last seven years. In 2016, Honda was named a “UN Foundation Global Advocate for Youth,” and he will continue to make impact investments to help children and support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
