Visual Tagging

The tagging system depicted here uses a camera attached to a rudimentary image recognition algorithm. When a magnet is placed within the active visual area of the system, the sytem responds. In this case, a web page is displayed corresponding to the image on the magnet.

When cameras attached to intelligent syestms become more ubiquitous, this type of tagging will become more common. People will use common everyday images to make thir environment respond naturally. With a more powerful image recognition system, users may create their own tags from any image. Fluidly creating custom tags allows users to configure the environment with a minimum of inconvenience or adjusting their behavior to the machine.
