Tag-Based Interfaces

[MIT Media Laboratory Banner]

Several of our projects involve the tracking of passive and active magnetic tags for human-computer interaction. These have included:

Swept-Frequency Tagging and Musical Trinkets

Real-Time Tracking of an ensemble of passive tags, and an illustrative application as a collaborative music controller.

Musical Navigatrics

A more complex musical environment for interacting with and building musical texture (e.g., sequences and timbres), using a more sophisticated swept-frequency tag reader.

Low-Cost Active Tag Tracking for Atmosphere

A very low-cost active tag tracking system as used in the Atmosphere installation at MOMA.
