Information for All Applicants
- Application Deadline: December 15 for the following fall semester.
- Supplemental Deadline: December 31: includes online recommendation letters, transcripts, and IELTS (International English Language Testing System, required for international applicants only) score.
- Online applications only. Note to people who've applied previously: We are using a different online application system this year.
- Applications, including recommendation letters, are required to be submitted electronically using the online application system. Hard copies will not be accepted.
- GREs not required.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered. Principal components include statement of objectives (including links to online portfolio if required), official transcripts from past attended universities, and three recommendation letters.
- Application must list three faculty members/research groups with whom you'd like to work; include this information in the "areas of research or interdisciplinary program" field, and list faculty names at the beginning of statement of objective.
- Interviews are by invitation only after application submission.
- All students in Media Arts and Sciences are currently fully funded (tuition, medical insurance, and stipend).
- Coursework requirements depend on your research group—there is no "core curriculum."
