We have added Kandao cameras to E14-393, E14-494, and E14-514b. These cameras allow you to connect to a Zoom directly without a computer and run a browser. They can cast to the projector via HDMI, Airplay, or Miracast and then share that screen on Zoom (but it is a nicer experience if you share the screen from the computer casting instead). You can also plug them in via USB-C to use them like an Owl.
To use them, power up the projector with the panel in the corner of the room opposite the entrance and set it to Laptop 1. If needed power on the Kandao on the conference table with the power button on the top.
Everything you should want to do is located on the desktop. You can use the controller or keyboard to launch the apps. The keyboard tends to be easier to use, but you can use the remote like a mouse by hitting the top right button and usually you can pull out the on-screen keyboard by mousing over to the left of the screen and hitting the top button that looks like a keyboard.
- HDMI Monitor - displays the screen attached via the HDMI cable marked Laptop 1
- Camera Tool - allows you to set the layout of the camera output and control tracking (also available in Zoom)
- Edge - browse the web in case you need it
- Zoom - the conference software of choice at MIT
If you want to be sure the camera can't see you, you can cover it with the silicon cover that should be nearby it. You can also turn it off with the power button. As always, please shut off the projector when you are done with it.
The cameras can do a lot more. If you have additional needs contact NeCSys to discuss.
