MIT is using a hi-tech solution to create personalized experiences for its visitors.

Recent visitors to the MIT Media Lab were welcomed by touch screens which guided them to the various exhibits in the complex based on preferences they had set on previous visits. Each first time visitor is able to build and save their portfolio via the screens, so that when they comes back, a history exists, which is used by the RFID readers to customize their visit and make suggestions on people to meet and projects (also called ‘charms’) to look for and share.
