5:30pm — 6:45pm

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Sasaki Foundation invites you to join them for a panel to discuss the role of feminism in design and data science. In particular, experts on the panel will explore what feminism in practice looks like; how to promote a feminist practice; how feminist practice impacts the design and evaluation of spaces, data science, and data ethics; and its impact on the industry as a whole. Prof Wood, Dr. Katlyn Turner and Prof D'Ignazio will share more about the writing of the recent article called "The Abuse and Misogynoir Playbook," which provides historical context to show the well-established patterns of aggression toward contributions of Black women that challenge the status quo.

Panelists:

Lori Brown, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Professor, Syracuse University; President of ArchiteXX

Catherine D’Ignazio, Director, Data + Feminism Lab, Assistant Professor of Urban Science & Planning, MIT
