I want to create a house that nurtures creativity. In an IoT society where the Internet is connected to all kinds of "things", I wonder if IoT home appliances can be used not only to improve convenience, but also as a tool to nurture the creativity of the people who live there. I was a Visiting Scientist in the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab for three years from 2016-2019, and I have been conducting research on creativity education in daily life using home appliances and programming even after returning to Japan. In this workshop, we will create cookies and future lighting using a program that extends the programming software "Scratch" developed by MIT, and IoT home appliances prototyped by Panasonic. Through the creation of these works, we would like to think about programming and future life together, while also sharing the MIT Media Lab's creative philosophy of constructionism and creative learning with the participants.
