John is an MIT Mechanical Engineering graduate student and National Science Foundation fellow in the Biomechatronics group led by Dr. Hugh Herr. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California in 2023. While at UCLA, John designed and demonstrated the feasibility of compliant intramedullary stems for joint reconstruction . As a graduate student at MIT, his current work focuses on neuroprosthetic control design with the goal of improving the activity, agility, and balance of persons with lower extremity amputations.
