Kantwon Rogers

Postdoctoral Associate
  • Personal Robots

Kantwon Rogers is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Personal Robots Group.  Before, he was a PhD student at Georgia Tech and was advised by Sonia Chernova and Ayanna Howard. His dissertation work focused on robot deception and understanding if/when/how robots should lie to humans (spicy stuff!).  Broadly, Kantwon is interested in the peculiarity and conflictions of humans, and how these quirks influence how we interact with AI and robotic technologies and how we can better these systems with humans and societies in mind.

Additionally, for the last  9 years, Kantwon was also a lead instructor for Georgia Tech's Introduction to MATLAB course for engineers--which supported nearly 1000 students each semester. Prior to his PhD, Kantwon also earned a BS in Computer Engineering, MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering, and an MS in Human-Computer Interaction all from Georgia Tech. So far in his journey, Kantwon has worked at Intel Corporation, Google, and Amazon.

For fun, Kantwon enjoys singing, playing sports, baking cupcakes, and idolizing the former professional tennis player Serena Williams.
