Teresa Farinha

Former Research Assistant

Teresa Farinha is a PhD student in Evolutionary Economic Geography at Utrecht University, and a visiting student in César Hidalgo's Collective Learning Group at MIT Media Lab, where she studies the evolution of regional labor structures and the future of jobs.

Teresa holds a bachelor's in Economics and a master's in Financial and Monetary Economics from the University of Lisboa. She has worked since 2009 as research assistant and co-coordinator in research projects on innovation and knowledge-based entrepreneurship, and counterfactual impact evaluation of EU public policies on firms' competitiveness, innovation, internationalization, employment and job quality. Teresa has also professional experience in audit, business consulting, risk analysis, governance, tutoring, and volunteer work in Portuguese NGOs on Fisheries and Marine Policy, and Circular Economy.

Her main research interests are economic development, evolutionary economic geography, sustainability transitions, innovation, and policy impact evaluation.
