Jack Forman receives the 2021 MIT RISE LBGTQ+ Pride Award

Tangible Media group researcher Jack Forman is the 2021 recipient of the RISE LBGTQ+ Pride Award, for commitment to diversity, social justice, inclusion, and equity on and off MIT’s campus. Forman is the co-president of LGBT Grad @ MIT, an organization devoted to engaging and empowering the MIT LGBT+ community. Jack is also the LGBT+ representative to the Graduate School Committee’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.

RISE (Recognizing Individuals Supporting Equity) is a collaborative MIT initiative between the Office of Multicultural Programs (OMP), LBGTQ+ Services, the Office of Minority Education (OME), the Office of Graduate Education (OGE), and the Institute Community and Equity Office (ICEO). 

Nominations for the RISE award categories are submitted each year by students, peers, and colleagues from across the Institute.

The RISE LBGTQ+ Pride Award is dedicated to recognizing staff and students who have made significant contributions to creating a community that values, supports, and celebrates LBGTQ+ individuals and their allies.
