When you leave the Media Lab, any websites hosted on media.mit.edu or mit.edu that feature your research must either be unpublished or redirected to the relevant project profile on the main Media Lab website. If one or more of your collaborators is still at MIT or the Lab and actively working on the project, they may be given access to maintain the site. 

Sites that contain content or applications that cannot be displayed on the main Media Lab website may remain active, but must be edited to include language reflecting the current status of the work, similar to the banner displayed on archived project profiles on the Media Lab website.

Due to limited computing resources and MIT policies, as set by MIT IS&T, MIT and Media Lab domain names cannot be redirected to web addresses that do not contain mit.edu or media.mit.edu after you leave MIT, unless someone with a current affiliation with MIT or the Lab is actively working on the project. In these cases, we will redirect the domain name to the main project profile on the Media Lab website, and add a link to the current home of the project. If we find that a domain name has been compromised or abandoned, and cannot find a project profile related to the work it once represented, we may redirect it to the main Media Lab website.
