Professor Danielle Wood, who directs the Space Enabled research group, and alum Dr. Joy Buolamwini are among the MIT community members featured in The Genius Within, a new public art installation in Kendall Square (Cambridge, Massachusetts).
Designed by Innovators for Purpose (iFp) in collaboration with MIT, the 7.5-foot rotating aluminum tower at One Broadway uses mirrored panels to invite viewers to “see the genius within.” The installation honors Kendall Square’s diverse innovators and includes a tribute to the late Ronald McNair and many others, who were active in the Cambridge community and helped Kendall Square become known as the most innovative square mile on the planet.
