MIT SA+P has made their Wellness Program completely virtual, and beginning Friday, March 20 will be available to the Media Lab community. See class schedule and Zoom links below for opportunities to connect, relieve stress, and breathe together.
Yoga + Mindfulness (Iyengar Yoga)
Iyengar yoga is Hatha yoga as taught by BKS Iyengar and develops strength, coordination, and flexibility of the body and mind. Participants learn how to use their embodiment as an anchor—a way to find peace and inner strength during busy and difficult times. Every class is different with a unique sequence based on the theme of the class and the needs of the students. Using physical alignment as a starting point, Iyengar yoga encourages the spread of intelligence throughout the body, the growth of self-awareness, and uses asana as a form of meditation. **You will need to have a mat and some sort of belt/strap.

A note from Ashley:
Most of us are reeling from the tremendous amount of change and uncertainty we’re experiencing—please extend yourself a good dose of self-compassion and patience from me! The practices of mindfulness meditation and yoga can be incredibly helpful as we settle into this new reality. I am so thankful for my teachers and the teachings that make it possible to feel anchored and calm in the midst of the chaos—and I am incredibly grateful for the ongoing opportunity to share those teachings with all of you. Keep in mind the research that shows how these practices improve the quality of sleep and bolster the immune system too!
Please let Ashley know if you have any questions about these on-line offerings. Stay well everyone!
