Abstract

Sleep timing and consistency are key predictors of mental and physical wellbeing. This study investigates how two metrics, the Sleep Regularity Index (SRI) and circadian misalignment measured as the time difference between dim light melatonin onset (DLMO) and sleep onset (DLMO-SO), relate to daily wellbeing and sleep quality. Over two weeks, 48 participants wore smartwatches and completed daily surveys. Higher SRI and smaller DLMO-SO intervals were associated with better sleep quality and next-day wellbeing, emphasizing the importance of regular sleep timing and circadian alignment.
