Join us to celebrate the uniqueness that makes us resilient and the curiosity that drives us forward. This is an entirely new, student-focused and -organized event to help the Media Lab community connect and learn.  We’ll be using streaming video with live Q+A, a bespoke Gather.town, and other interactive online experiences. More details below!

Please note that attendance at this event is by invitation only; it is not open to the public, or to the press.

What is Inflection PoinT?

An inflection point is when a sign flips from negative to positive. After a challenging year and a half, we're inviting students, staff, faculty, and members to help us create a Lab experience for and by the community, unlike anything the Lab has ever done before.

Schedule and Details

June 8, 8–10pm ET—Showcase21
Join us as we launch Showcase21, a curated series of videos that highlight some of our amazing students, UROPs, and postdocs. Showcase21 illustrates how projects flow between passion and the sense of play that makes the Media Lab such a unique place.

June 9 and June 10—Future Lab Experiences
With the help of some of our fantastic students, we have created a Media Lab Gather.town. We have dedicated space for students, researchers and groups to highlight their work, or host an experience! A Gather.town Future Lab Experience could be as simple as a static poster, or can be a hosted, live event like a demo or a workshop. Though Gather.town will be active all day and night, there will be specific times when we will encourage people to join live. More info below!

June 10—Hold the Time!
This is the day for students and researchers to talk one-on-one with our member companies, whether it’s to give them more information about the research they’ve seen, discuss potential collaboration opportunities, or talk about future internships and hiring possibilities. The Member Relations team (member-managers@media.mit.edu) is standing by to connect researchers with members!
