The NASA Disasters Program advances science and builds tools to help communities make informed decisions for disaster planning. We develop free and accessible resources that use Earth observations to reveal how natural hazards interact with vulnerability, exposure, and coping capacity in a changing climate.
Prof. Danielle Wood and the Space Enabled research group are hosting the 2025 meeting at MIT. This meeting kicks off the ROSES-24 A.42 Earth Action: Disaster Risk Reduction, Recovery, and Resilience portfolio, highlights key findings and after-action insights from the first year of the Disasters Response Coordination System (DRCS), and fosters science exchange to advance scalable, informed decision-making. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with the broader Disasters Program community—sharing ideas, building relationships, and strengthening our collective efforts to support disaster resilience from local to national levels.
