At that time, I was also the Program Coordinator for the Emerging Worlds Special Interest Group. Emerging Worlds is a group at the Media Lab focused on low cost, deployable tech for emerging economies.  With MIT Emerging Worlds, I assisted, organized and led seven trips to India.  There we met with leaders in government and industry, ran workshops and buildathons, and help networking dinners and alumni meetings.  I also ran bi-annual meetings and conferences at MIT to engage the MIT community with the international work of Emerging Worlds.  Finally, I was the contact person for collaborators from several other countries who were exploring the emerging words umbrella and tech development strategies.
