The math of water doesn't add up: only one percent of the earth's freshwater is available for human use, and agriculture uses nearly 70 percent of it. Layer on top of that the need to feed upwards of nine billion people by 2050, and this means we must increase food production by 70 percent without more water or land. Farmers are already using technology and data to optimize water usage, but we now stand on the brink of a new world when it comes to protecting the globe's water supply. This session will detail advances currently in place, and explore how food producers are leveraging technology and data to create long-term, sustainable solutions to address this looming water security crisis.
