In the Critical Matter group, we work across various scales—from wearable technology and fashion to architecture and public art. Our focus lies at the intersection of design, technology, and critical inquiry, challenging traditional boundaries and exploring innovative approaches that blend creative expression with cutting-edge technology. We aim to create impactful work that addresses societal challenges.
We welcome applicants from all disciplines, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Critical Design: Media Arts, Social Computing
- New Materials: Computational Design, Digital Fabrication, Bio Materials, Material Science, Computational Textile
- Robotic & Novel Fabrication: Additive Manufacturing, Subtractive Manufacturing
- Machine Perception: AI and Computer vision, Generative AI & design
- Interactive Design: Biometric Sensing, Mechanical Engineering , Fashion and Wearable Technology, Interactive Architecture
