We are committed biotechnologists who apply robotics and machine learning to evolve new molecular tools and techniques, develop and launch new technologies and organizations to defend against pandemics and prevent the catastrophic misuse of biotechnology, and work with the guidance of interested communities to safely and humanely edit wild populations and ecosystems.

Candidate students interested in the MAS program should reach out to members of our group before applying, as we generally don't admit students directly without a chance to assess mutual fit in advance. Biotech-focused students are encouraged to join us through MIT's other PhD programs, which allow rotations.

We also welcome applicants for operations, technician, postdoctoral fellow, and research scientist positions.

A full description of our research can be found at www.sculptingevolution.org.
