Frederick Ajisafe

Frederick Ajisafe is a graduate research assistant in the Space Enabled research group, currently working on a PhD in MIT's Aeronautics and Astronautics program. From the same department, he received a bachelor's degree in 2023 and a master's degree in 2025. His work includes the use of earth observation satellite remote sensing to detect and quantify greenhouse gas emissions, and the integration of this data into complex system models tied to climate policy. He has received fellowships from MIT-Brazil, MIT-Africa, and MathWorks. He is the lead author of a successful NASA grant proposal to investigate stakeholder-informed methane monitoring of Rio de Janeiro's primary landfill. Outside of research, he is a long-time musician, with a particular focus on the tuba.
