Jessica Beltran Ullauri

Jessica is a visiting researcher in the Biomechatronics Group, where she is working on the control of a transtibial prosthesis by EMG. She holds a B.S degree in Electronics and Control Engineering from the National Polytechnic School (EPN) of Ecuador and a M.S degree in Mechanical Science and Engineering from Nagoya University of Japan. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Safety Robotics Group of Nagoya University and the Brain-Robot Interfaces Group of the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute (ATR) in Kyoto, Japan, where she is working on the development of a EEG decoder to implement in the online control a rehabilitation robot. Her main areas of interest are BMIs, biomechanics of human walking, biosignals processing, and hand and leg prostheses design. Her biggest motivation comes from the wish to share with others her happiness and faith, and the wish to give others back their ability to walk.
