As Lab’s Director of Facilities, Jessica Tsymbal brings 20 years of experience in facilities management, planning, and design. In her current position she helps the Lab further its role as the premier antidisciplinary research lab in the country through day-to-day operations of the wet lab/dry lab/office complex.
Prior to joining the Media Lab, Jessica developed and led numerous capital projects for Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research and Merck Millipore, as well served as the Science + Technology practice lead and architect for architectural firms. Past clients included the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin / Medical College of Wisconsin, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Washington University in St. Louis, and BioMed Realty Trust.
She currently volunteers for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a member of the Designer Selection Board. Nominated by Governor Charlie Baker, she is one of eleven members who selects designers for state building projects and Commonwealth charter school projects.
Jessica holds a Master of Architecture from MIT and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University.
