Nirmita Mehra

Nirmita is a Visiting Student at the Fluid Interfaces group, MIT Media Lab. She is also pursuing an undergraduate degree in Bachelors in Technology from IIIT Delhi with majors in Electronics and Communication Engineering. She has previously worked in the field of Virtual Reality and lately her work has been accepted at CHI 2019. She is passionate about seeing the world with augmented capabilities, creating illusions and developing applications for social good. 

She is currently working with Judith Amores, to explore the effect of olfactory interfaces on people during different activities such as sleep, memorisation and meditation. She is also looking into the physiological data and subjective experience to better understand the effects of odor using various statistical tests, often used in psychology.
