Former Alumnus, Movies of the Future

PhD 2000
Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, UCSD

After graduating, Nuno joined the Compaq Research Lab, which later become the HP Research Lab in Cambridge. In 2003, he moved to San Diego, joining UCSD as a faculty in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department where he is currently a full professor.

How did your experience at the Lab influence your next step?

The lab exposed to many topics of research that I was not aware at the time. It enabled me to explore many new ideas, which I continued  to pursue in my research after graduation. It also taught me how to do research and to always pursue the extraordinary.

Always pursue the ideas that you are passionate about. Ignore all other distractions and those who tell you they are not feasible.
