Daniel Wenzel

Daniel Wenzel is a German designer and creative technologist. Specializing in typography and generative processes, he balances at the intersection of art, design, and technology.

He has been part of DIA Studio, known for kinetic identities and typographic systems, later joined Mouthwash Studio as Creative Technology Director, and founded the type foundry 26A1.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to projects that utilize procedural thinking for the benefit of coherent systems and technological advancement. He has worked for internationally renowned clients including Adidas, Apple, Google, Louis Vuitton, MoMA, Nike and The New York Times.

In addition to his professional practice, he taught at The Cooper Union and Pratt Institute in New York and ELISAVA in Barcelona, and gave workshops and lectured at HEAD Genève, HS Mainz, KABK, Weltformat, TDC Inscript, and the MIT Media Lab, among others.

He has been published and exhibited in a variety of books, magazines, blogs and festivals such as It’s Nice That, étapes, Slanted, Victionary, DEMO and TYPE01, and has been awarded the IBK Promotional Award for Typography and Young Guns 22.
