Yasith Samaradivakara

Yasith Samaradivakara is a freestyle technologist, researcher, and engineer born and raised in Sri Lanka. With a background in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, and Artificial Intelligence, his work explores wearable technologies that advance our understanding of human behavior and cognition to open new possibilities for well-being.

He is currently working on first-person wearable interfaces that leverage multimodal sensing to model human behavior and cognition in everyday interactions, with applications in memory support,  behavior change , self-awareness, and support for older adults. His previous work includes designing and developing wearable prototypes as sensory substitutes for people with hearing, speech, and visual impairments.

His research has been published in leading Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence venues, including CHI, EMNLP, UIST, and Augmented Humans, and has been presented and awarded at forums such as Prototypes for Humanity and the Meta Impact Innovation Awards. With nearly a decade of experience, he has contributed to projects spanning startups, industry, and academia.
