Responsive Environments alum Irmandy Wicaksono, now a professor at the National University of Singapore, has been chosen as one of MIT Technology Review's "Innovators Under 35: Materials science" for 2025.
Professor Wicaksono's work focuses on smart textiles that can be used to create health-sensing garments, space suits designed to help protect astronauts' cardiovascular health, or athletic equipment that analyzes the user's movements. Because the sensors are integrated with the fabric, these textiles are suitable for everyday use, and can be customized to the wearer.
