Ana Schon, a master’s student in the Opera of the Future group at the MIT Media Lab, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Laya and Jerome B. Wiesner Student Art Award.

The award honors students who have made exceptional contributions to the arts at MIT. Ana’s work explores how innovative, accessible technologies can create immersive musical experiences that connect people to their communities and surroundings.

Established by the Council for the Arts at MIT in 1979, these awards honor past MIT President Jerome B. Wiesner and Laya Wiesner for their commitment to the arts at MIT. All prize winners this year will be honored at the MIT Awards Convocation Ceremony on May 9, 2025.
