Canan Dagdeviren, associate professor of media arts and sciences and director of the Conformable Decoders group, has been named one of Worth's Groundbreaking Women 2026.

Worth's annual Groundbreaking Women list recognizes women across industries who have made noteworthy strides in their fields. This year's honorees span science, technology, business, medicine, mathematics, entertainment, and sports, and include AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell, Anthropic President and co-founder Daniela Amodei, mathematician Hong Wang, Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana, musician Dua Lipa, actress Emma Stone, and Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu, among others.

Dagdeviren also serves as faculty lead for WHx, the Women's Health program. Her research focuses on mechanically adaptive, body-integrated technologies designed to interact closely with the human body and address unmet needs in healthcare.

Worth highlighted her work developing the conformable ultrasound breast patch (cUSBr-Patch), a wearable ultrasound technology inspired in part by the experience of her aunt, who died from breast cancer after a late diagnosis. Worth's profile traces the technology from an idea Dagdeviren and her aunt sketched together to a wearable imaging platform designed to enable more frequent breast monitoring.

Dagdeviren was also a featured speaker at Worth's Groundbreaking Women 2026 event in New York City on September 15. She joined Lisa Anderson, founder of Paragonix Technologies, and Dafna Bar-Sagi, chief scientific officer at NYU Langone, for a session titled "Mothers of Invention," focused on women developing new approaches to longstanding challenges in medicine.
