Dong Won Lee, a researcher in the Personal Robots group at the Media Lab, is among nine MIT PhD students who have been selected for Amazon AI fellowships. Currently, Lee works on the foundations of multimodal social agents with a focus on developing machine learning methods and evaluation for social intelligence.
Awarded by the MIT-Amazon Science Hub (hosted by MIT's Schwarzman College of Computing), the fellowship will provide students with funding to conduct independent research projects at MIT. Fellows will also be paired with an Amazon scientist, who will serve as a mentor and research liaison.
