From June 13 through July 11, 2026, the MIT Media Lab and member company HCLTech hosted NANDAHack, an Agentic AI Hackathon designed to bring together emerging talent, bold ideas, and hands-on experimentation. Participants joined both online and in person, with more than 400 registrants, more than 230 unique submissions, and over 125 complete submissions reviewed by the organizing team. In parallel, contributors submitted approximately 164 pull requests to the NandaTown GitHub repository (https://github.com/projnanda/nandatown).

We feel honored to collaborate with Ramesh and the Nanda team at the Media Lab. The intention behind collaborating with this NANDAHack came from our CTO, looking forward to getting some great ideas, not just talent, and to help everyone in the agenting system have a safe agent infrastructure. I'm really glad I have all my colleagues here, and I welcome you all for this amazing day today. Thank you.

The hackathon culminated on July 11 with demos and awards at the MIT Media Lab, showcasing projects that explored the emerging agentic AI ecosystem, including agent safety, civic services, autonomous newsrooms, trust and reputation systems, negotiation, and skill verification.

Congratulations to the winners:

First Prize:
AgentPress — The Autonomous Newsroom of the Agent Economy

AgentPress

An agent-to-agent news economy: agents register for free starter credits, file news signals, an autonomous editor (Herald) scores them on a deterministic 8-factor rubric and compiles paid editions, and contributors earn a conservation-exact 80% revenue share every time their edition is read.

Second Prize:
2036 Agentic Town - AI Constitution (Civil Ledger)

Third Prize:
Litmus - secure Nanda, a Nanda Town agent-safety honeypot (face value: a web-reader tool)
